Scroll down to find step by step instructions on how to make a Kraft Paper Backdrop, Tissue Ball Tassel Decorations and a Tassel Streamer for your next event.

Kraft Paper Backdrop

You Will Need:

Instructions:

  • Decide how wide your backdrop will need to be.
  • Cut 8-10 sheets of the Kraft paper at your desired backdrop width.
  • Stack sheets on top of one another.
  • (See Image Below) Use your scissors or knife to cut strips approximately 1″ wide.  Be sure to leave around 3″ at the top of your sheets where you do not cut so that your backdrop does not fall apart.  These do not have to be perfectly straight or consistent.  (You will never notice the imperfections once it is hanging on the wall)

  • Start taping your first backdrop sheet towards the bottom of your wall.  Continue with the other sheets overlapping as you go up.  The finished backdrop will look something like the image below.

Tissue Ball Tassel Decorations

You Will Need:

Instructions:

  • Take the first tablecover out of the packaging but only unravel the accordion fold.  You will be left with a long, folded rectangular sheet approximately 13″ high by 108″ long.
  • Lay your folded sheet flat down on the floor and cut sections that are approximately 14″ wide.  (If you plan to make the tassel streamer as well,  you will want to lay aside one 14″ section of each color of tablecover.  Directions for the streamer are further down in the post).
  • (See Image Below) Cut strips that are around 1″ wide.  Be sure to leave around 2″ at the top where you do not cut so that your tassel doesn’t fall apart.

Cut-2

  • (See Image Below) Once all of your 1″ strips are cut in the section, use a pencil to roll your tassel.  3
  • (See Image Below) Use a piece of tape to secure the tassel near the top.

4

  • Follow these steps with the rest of your 14″ tablecover sections.
  • Once all of your tassels are completed, align them on the floor in the pattern/color order that you will want them to hang from the tissue balls.
  • (See Image Below)  To connect the tassels to one another, tie a piece of string to the top of one tassel leaving around 2″ of string sticking up from the top.  Tape that string to an inner tassel strip of the one which will be hanging above it.  (Be sure to use plenty of tape to secure each one to avoid them falling apart once they are hanging).11.jpg
  • (See Image Below) Once all of your tassels are connected, tie a string from the top tassel leaving approximately 8″ to connect to the tissue ball.  Tape the string along the straight edge of the ball.  (Again, be sure to use plenty of tape)12
  • (See Image Below) Your finished decorations will look something like the image below.  Hang them together in a group, over a table, or in the corners of a room for a fun pop of color.14.jpg

Tassel Streamer

You Will Need:

  • 2 rectangular tablecovers (Any colors) (Or your remaining sections from the “Tissue Ball Tassel Decorations” that you laid aside for the streamer).
  • String
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  • Take the first tablecover out of the packaging but only unravel the accordion fold.  You will be left with a long, folded rectangular sheet approximately 13″ high by 108″ long.
  • Lay your folded sheet flat down on the floor and cut sections that are approximately 14″ wide.
  • Cut strips that are around 1″ wide.
  • (See Images Below) To attach your strips to the streamer, loop them around the string.1a2a3a
  • (See Image Below) Continue looping the remaining strips to the string in whatever color order you choose.  The strips can be positioned tightly together or as spaced out as you would like.  This streamer works nicely on a backdrop, along a table, or anywhere else that needs a touch of color.  streamer.jpg
