How To Create Your Own Christmas Wreath in Three Simple Steps

This time of year, many of us are purchasing Christmas gifts, giving donations to our favorite charities, purchasing food and refreshments for Christmas get togethers…the list goes on.  This all means one thing, we’re spending a lot of money.  But…good news!  You can save on your Christmas decorating by doing a few DIY projects instead of purchasing the items already created.  (This is better anyway, because you can customize things the way you want to). 😊

Below I am going to show you how to create a simple, easy & inexpensive Christmas wreath in THREE SIMPLE STEPS.  I’ll also give you a few tips for variations you can do with your wreath to customize it to fit within your home and style.  Check it out…

STEP 1: GATHER

For step 1, we’re going to gather our materials.  (You’ll be able to find links to all of the necessary materials in links at the bottom of the post).  First, you will need 1 10-Inch Styrofoam Wreath Ring (Item: NMW1005).  You will also need 1 15′ Gleam ‘N Fest Festooning Garland (Item: 50281).  There are multiple garland colors to choose from, however, I used the Red & Green option for my wreath.  Last you will need any additional embellishments you choose to add to your wreath.  I chose to use (Item: 20844) Holly & Berry Garland & also a red Christmas bow.  If your wreath will only be used for indoor purposes, you have other options for embellishments such as Mini Cutouts.

STEP 2: ASSEMBLE

Begin by wrapping your Festooning Garland around the Styrofoam ring, weaving from the inside of the ring to the outside.  The garland is a perfect length to completely cover the ring 1 time around.  You can fasten the end of the garland with either a staple or a little bit of glue.

STEP 3: GLUE

Using a hot glue gun, add your chosen embellishments.  If you want to use the Holly & Berry Garland like I did, you will want to remove the leaves & berries from the plastic vine & discard the vine (or save for future projects).  Glue your accessories on to the wreath however you see fit.  I chose to add some leaves & berries to the bottom of the wreath & glue a large Christmas bow in the center of them.  Make sure that everything is glued tightly.

There you have it.  A simple, beautiful Christmas wreath to place anywhere you choose around your home or office.  If you’re feeling extra festive & crafty, you can create enough to place on the outside all of your home’s windows and even make one for the door!
